Good News Jail Ministry
The "GOOD NEWS JAIL & PRISON MINISTRY" ministers to all inmates in the Virginia Beach Correctional Center. Their motto is: "BREAKING THE CYCLE OF CRIME, ONE LIFE AT A TIME.” While the national return rate of the general population is about 80 percent, of the inmates who complete the Christian program, the return rate drops to about 20 percent! This ministry receives no federal, state, or local funding--it depends on the gifts of concerned Christians from our community. Currently, we are collecting used cell phones, ink cartridges, SOFT COVER Bibles & Christian books to help with funding of this ministry. Our church has a collection box in the Narthex for donations. The ministry is happy to visit groups when invited.
