Stephen Ministers Needed
Being a Stephen Minister is a unique way to:
· Serve our Lord and the congregation;
· Discover, cultivate, and use the spiritual gifts you have been blessed with;
· See yourself as active partners in the mission and ministry of the church;
· Find all aspects of your life enriched by the distinctively Christian care-giving skills you will learn and practice;
· Experience great joy as you see God working through you to bring hope and healing to a hurting person;
· Grow spiritually as you experience the Lord's loving presence in community with other Christian caregivers.
Are you interested in becoming a Stephen Minister or just want more information on this ministry? The Stephen Ministry team will host two informational meetings in December--please come and join us at one of these meetings in the fellwoship hall.

In the next couple of months you will be hearing that a new Stephen Ministry training class will begin in January. Please search your heart and listen to see if there is a calling for you to join this ministry. If you feel that the Stephen Ministry is something you might be interested in, please talk to one of the Stephen Ministers. We would be happy to answer any questions you might have. Some of the most common questions are: How long is the training and what will be expected of me after the training? The training is 50 hours and we always work with whatever works best for the group. It sounds like a big, commitment, but think about how long a Disciple class lasts. In that case 50 hours really isn’t that long. After the training and Commissioning we have Supervision/Continuing Education meetings twice a month. Once you are assigned a care receiver you will be spending about an hour per week with that person helping them through whatever life issue they are struggling with.
